A Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 on the Move: UK to Asia

Another engine, another international journey. This time, ETA LOGISTICS coordinated the door-to-door transportation of a Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 aircraft engine from the United Kingdom to Asia.

This journey, however, came with an added twist! While passing through Dover, the engine was selected for a physical customs inspection, introducing an unexpected stop before it could continue its journey.

Customs inspections can add an extra layer of coordination to international shipments, particularly when working to a tight delivery schedule. The priority was to complete the inspection and get the engine moving again without affecting the planned arrival.

Through communication and coordination between everyone involved, the inspection was successfully completed without any delay to the shipment’s schedule.

Meanwhile, Kennedy MacCulloch was attending MRO Europe in Amsterdam, while the ETA LOGISTICS operations team continued managing the movement behind the scenes. Different locations, different responsibilities, but the same objective: keeping the shipment on track.

It’s a reminder that even a straightforward door-to-door movement can have a few unexpected chapters. Fortunately, this one had a happy ending: inspection completed, schedule maintained and another successful engine movement from the UK to Asia.

A big thank you to everyone involved in making it happen!

Because in AOG logistics, things don’t always go to plan. What matters is how quickly you respond when they don’t.
